The Bereavement journey®

If you are visiting this page in response to a personal bereavement, we are truly sorry for your loss and pray that you may find some help and comfort here during this difficult time. If you would like to join our next The Bereavement Journey® Course at HTB, the details are listed to the right.

Over 190 churches around the UK are running the course.  Ideally guests attend one in their local area. This page is for booking The Bereavement Journey® course run by Holy Trinity Brompton. If you are based outside of London, or in another part of London, we recommend visiting thebereavementjourney.org/locations before booking to see whether there is one nearer that would suit you.

We ask people from outside the UK or who are wishing to run or learn more about The Bereavement Journey® course not to register as guests, but to contact us for course involvement opportunities and training.

Attendance for all of the six main sessions is recommended.  If you are unable to manage all of the dates, please consider booking a future course.

About

Working through grief and the loss of a loved one takes a long time. This course is for anyone who is bereaved, whether recently or dating back several years, although attendance is recommended after the first three months of a bereavement to benefit most from the material.

Topics covered include:

  • Attachment, separation and loss

  • The impact and pain of bereavement

  • Adjusting to change

  • Anger and Guilt

  • Coping with others' reactions

  • Moving forward healthily

  • And an optional seventh session on the Faith Perspective

Each week involves two short films, each followed by an opportunity for discussion in groups of 6-8.

Thank you so much - I’ve had countless counselling sessions and CBT but none of that worked. It wasn’t until I completed this course that I finally found at peace with regards to my Dad’s sudden death.
It was good to be able to express my feelings with people who understood because they were experiencing much the same.
